Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 08/19/2013Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
A full-time adult inpatient Psychiatrist is n! eeded for an ongoing assignment in West Virginia. Provider's daily responsibilities will include rounding, medication management, and therapy sessions. Physician will be working with a full support staff and electronic medical record management. The schedule will consist of Monday through Friday 8-4, no call or weekends required. A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medicati! on management.
Required Qualifications
Facility w! ill consider board eligible and board certified candidates.
Preferred Qualifications
Provider needs to be comfortable seeing all types of adult diagnoses. Experience with electronic medical records is a plus.
