The Supervised Psychologist, under supervision for licensure by a licensed Psychologist, is responsible for assuring the continuation of hi! gh quality psychological services to program youth and will participate in making accurate treatment and placement recommendations for youth. The Supervised Psychologist will also provide educational trainings to staff regarding interpreting tests and assessments, utilizing information from evaluations to provide quality treatment, and other areas of expertise.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
A. Psychological Testing and Assessment

To assure a high quality, comprehensive program of psychological testing and assessment for youth, the Supervised Psychologist will:

1. Complete psychological assessments and reports for youth admitted to the Diagnostic and Assessment Cottage and for residential youth referred by Psychiatrist, Psychologist or other appropriate clinical program staff;

2. Provide all services in a culturally sensitive manner, advocating for needs of youth as necessary, while adhering to Professional Code of Ethic! s;

3. Complete Mental Status/Clinical Evaluation on a! n as needed basis;

4. Attend Treatment Team Meetings and provide input regarding results of assessment and recommendations for treatment/placement;

5. Be responsible for the supervision of aides that administer testing to youth.

B. Training

To assure that the training needs of general program staff are met, the Supervised Psychologist will:

1. Provide training to staff program and state-wide on psychological testing assessments, reading results, application of DSM diagnosis, etc., at the request of the supervisor.

2. Provide training to staff in general areas of expertise per request of supervisor.

C. Professional Development and Collaboration

To assure continuing professional growth and development, the Supervised Psychologist will:

1. Meet the requirements (receiving supervision hours, providing appropriate documentation, etc.) of Supervised Psychologist in pursuing licensure as set forth by ! the West Virginia Board of Examiners of Psychologists, criteria for evaluation is proof of current Supervised Psychologist certificate in good standing, review of quarterly reports by Supervised Psychologist, review of supervision and journal of practice hours;

2. Attend applicable trainings/conferences as approved by Supervisor and provide proof of attendance for personnel file. Criteria for evaluation is CEU documentation of training forms in personnel file, training attendance certificates, etc;

3. Represent the agency in providing trainings to other professionals outside of this agency. Criteria for evaluation are training outlines and/or materials, evaluation by trainees, etc.

4. Meet with the Psychologist for 2 hour weekly supervision meetings.

D. Documentation and Record Keeping

To assure proper documentation and record keeping the Supervised Psychologist will:

1. complete all required paperwork; specifically docu! ment all case notes, reports, evaluations, etc. in a professional manne! r following program requirements and licensing regulations;

2. complete written work that is legible, accurate and uses professional language

3. meet timelines for submitting paperwork established by the program and organization

4. use written documentation to communicate effectively with peers, subordinates and supervisors

Job Requirements

Essential Qualifications

1. Education/Credentials/Licensure:
a. Master’s Degree in Psychology

b. Supervised Psychologist Certificate

c. Valid driver’s license and auto insurance

2. Experience: Two (2) years experience working with 10-18 year old population

3. Clearances: State Police/FBI per state regulations; Child Protection
