Using a variety of techniques including arts and crafts, animals, sports, games, dance and movement, drama, music, and community outings, the Creative Arts Therapist will improve and maintain the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of his or her clients. In addition, the Therapist will:
Help individuals reduce depression, stress, and anxiety; recover basic motor functioning and reasoning abilities; build confidence; and socialize effectively so that they can enjoy greater independence and reduce or eliminate the effects of their illness or disability
Help people with disabilities integrate into the communi! ty by teaching them how to use community resources and recreational activities
Meet with youth and family at least two times a month for family sessions
Meet with youth and psychiatrist monthly for drug management as needed
Keep charting up-to-date for each therapy session, whether individual or group
Chart progress on treatment goals, and maintain accurate records
Assist team members in case management as needed
