SUMMARY PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION: To provide a coordinated assessment service for the Behavioral Medicine Programs. To respond to inquiry/intake assessm! ents (phone and face-to-face) by providing clinical assessment, crisis intervention services, mobilization of internal and external resources; establishing appropriate stabilization and disposition of each case; and appropriate information/referral for follow-up care in cases not requiring admission to hospital services.
REPORTS TO: Administrative Director of Behavioral Medicine, Medical Director of Psychiatry, Nurse Manager or designee.
EDUCATION: Minimum of a Bachelors Degree. Knowledge of or experience in working with mental health or chemical dependency field. Ability to work cooperatively with the program staff. Good communication and organizational skills. Clinical experience sufficient to perform required assessment services. Training in non-violent crisis intervention. Current CPR certification.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Knowledge of, or experience in, mental health or chemical dependency fields; ability to work un! der pressure and meet deadlines; ability to adapt to workload ! demands and set priorities; positive, professional presentation; ability to build rapport quickly and develop working relationships; ability to work cooperatively with the program staff; good communication and organizational skills. Clinical experience sufficient to perform required assessment services. Requires access to transportation.
