Description: West Virginia University is presently looking of Clinical Social Work Position right now, this position will be reside in West Virginia. The West Virginia University School of Medicine Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry has an immediate opening for a clinical social worker/co! unselor in their Division of Public Sector Psychiatry at William R. Sharpe, Jr. Hospital in Weston, WV. Responsibilities in this position include clinical services to hospitalized patients, teaching, and scholarly endeavors. Candidates should be masters level or doctoral-prepared in Social Work or Counseling from an accredited program. Candidates must also be licensed as social workers in West Virginia preferred LICSW level WV Code §30-30 and Legislative Rule §25-CSR-1 but will consider WV LGSW or LCSW with the understanding that the applicant will obtain LICSW license within two years of employment or LPC, WV Code §27-1-1. The position will be at the Instructor level at the time of hiring. WVU faculty clinical social work positions include competitive salary, excellent benefits which include: 24 vacation days per year, holidays received follow state holidays, five academic days to pursue continued educational units, and a limited stipend per year for educational endeavo! rs.

William R. Sharpe, Jr. Hospital is a 150 bed full! y accredited state psychiatric hospital. An additional 50 beds are being added to the hospital in the near future. The hospital provides treatment to involuntary committed adults with a variety of diagnoses. This hospital is a teaching hospital with students from various social work and counseling programs and other disciplines including psychology, medicine and other disciplines.
