The purpose of our residency is to prepare pharmacists to become competent clinicians or clinical faculty who serve the needs of older adults in a variety of heal! th care settings. Required experiences include the geriatrics clinic, geriatric and adult medicine acute care, palliative care, geriatric psychiatry, long-term care, family medicine, and the clinical on-call service. Additional elective experiences in geriatrics or other types of pharmacy practice are available. One of the program’s strengths is the integrated involvement of the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy and Charleston Division which provides additional support and opportunities in practice, teaching, and scholarship.
