West Virginia University â€" Charleston Division, Department of Behavioral Medicine & Psychiatry is ! seeking a full-time academic BC/BE General Psychiatrist for evaluation and treatment of adult inpatient and/or adult psychiatry outpatients. The outpatient department is housed in a new, spacious modern addition adjacent to CAMC Memorial Division and the adult inpatient unit has just undergone a complete renovation.
The opportunity involves teaching and supervisory responsibilities. Students include over 20 residents in either a general psychiatry track or a med/psych track, 30 + medical students, and three PhD psychology interns. Scholarly activity is strongly encouraged and supported.
The successful candidate will join a diverse and interdisciplinary faculty, including general psychiatrists, child& adolescent psychiatrists, addiction psychiatrist, geriatric psychiatrist, adult psychologists, child psychologist, neuropsychologist, psychiatric nurse practitioner, and social workers.
West Virginia University, Charleston Division is the oldest regional medical cam! pus in the United States. Over 100 clinical faculty provide tr! aining and educational oversight to more than 80 medical students and 140 residents. We are affiliated with the Charleston Area Medical Center, Inc., a non-profit, 838-bed, tertiary referral center.
Appointment will be at a level commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position will remain open until filled.
