Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) / Bureau for Behavioral Health and Health Facilities (BHHF) / William R. Sharpe Jr. Hospital, Lewis County - Performs professional work at the entry level in the role of coordi nating and implementing treatment for assigned patients within the psychiatric hospital setting. Mandatory overtime may be required depending on the operational needs of the hospital and patients. Individual selected will be responsible for social work and treatment planning duties for assigned case load and will be assisting other hospital social workers and treatment planners as needed. Individuals will work with treatment teams to develop comprehensive psychosocial assessments needed for the treatment of patient mental illness. Treatment team members include psychiatrist, psychologists, registered nurses, family, and community behavioral health centers to provide treatment and discharge planning. Performs related work as required. This is a tobacco free facility. Pre-employment drug screening is required. Applicants selected for employment must successfully complete a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug screening test. Applicant must successfully complete a backg round check. The same written exam is used for Social Worker 2 and 3. If you have taken and received a passing score within the past 6 months for Social Worker 2 or 3 and wish to be scored for this specific vacancy, without re-testing, you must apply online and request (by letter) to be scored. DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU CAN TEST WITHIN 15 DAYS OR BY THE CLOSING DATE. Online applicants who do not test within 15 days of the closing date will be rejected. ***TEST EXEMPTION*** Applicants with a verified Bachelor's (BSW) or Master's (MSW) in Social Work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited social work program, OR a current (non-temporary) WV Social Work License are NOT required to take the written examination. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training: Bachelor's degree in Social Work from a regionally accredited college or university.
Substitution: Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Psychology, Counseling, Criminal Justice, Behavioral Science, Interpersonal Communications, Human Services, Education, Special Education, Elementary Education, or Secondary Education from a regionally accredited college or university may be substituted for the degree in Social Work OR current West Virginia Social Work License.
Special Requirement: Eligible for Temporary Social Work License OR Licensed as a Social Worker, Graduate Social Worker, or Certified Social Worker by the West Virginia Board of Social Work Examiners.
For Bureau for Children and Families Training: Bachelor' s degree from an accredited college or university. Substitution: Current West Virginia Social Work License.
