Salary: $3,689 - $4,491 monthly (Steps C-H, SR-14)

Duties Summary

Th Airport Information Unit Supervisor serves as the unit head and supervises airport communications/information work at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport.

Shift work: Applicants must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

Basic Education/Requirement: One-half (1/2) year of work experience which demonstrated knowledge of correct English grammar and usage; the ability to read, understand and apply written instructions; the ability to understand and apply oral instructions; and maintain logs. This requirement may also be met by possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience Requirements:
Applicants must have had progressively responsible experience of the kind and quality described below and in the amounts shown in the following table, or any equivalent combination of training and experience:

General Experience: One (1) year experience which demonstrated that the applicant has the ability to speak clearly, and to deal effectively with people either in person or through telecommunications.

Specialized Experience: One (1) experience in the operation of a telephone switchboard, public address system and/or a computer controlled Flight Information Display System.

Supervisory Experience: Two (2) years work experience which included: 1) planning, organizing, scheduling, and directing the work of others; 2) assigning and reviewing their work; 3) advising them on difficult work problems; 4) training and developing subordinates; and 5) evaluating their work performance.

Federal Criminal History Records Check: In accordance with Federal regulations, person who are being considered for employment in positions which require unescorted access to secured areas at the airport must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check.

In order to be granted the SIDA clearance, prospective employees must not have been convicted, or found "not guilty by reason of insanity," of a disqualifying criminal offense within ten years from the date of application. Upon recommendation for hire, prospective employees will be required to successfully undergo the fingerprint-based criminal history record check and be found free of disqualifying convictions during the preceding ten years.
