Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Psychiatrist needed for 14 bed inpatient mental health facility in New Jersey. Physician duties include rounding, admissions, discharges, med-management and evaluations of all-adult patient base. Up to 20% geriatric patients. Monday-Fridays; 40 hrs/week....no call, no weekends. January 2014-ongoing coverage as hospital recruits. Board eligible physicians considered. Great rates! A psychia! trist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focu! ses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
