Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Outpatient full time adult and adolescent Psychiatrist is needed in metropolitan area in Pennsylvania. Start locum coverage mid January ongoing. Clinic hours are Monday - Friday 8 am-5 pm, no weekends and no call. The physician will see substance abuse and dependency patients; perform evaluations, consults and medication management. Youngest adolescent age 13 seen at clinic. Provider will split weeks sche! dule between two locations, approximately 25 miles from one an! other. A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
Required Qualifications
Psychiatrist will perform histories and physicals with patients. Suboxone certification is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Open to board eligible and! cerfied physicians.
Experience treating ages 13 through adults.
